In their 111 year history, Selfridges have been known for being at the forefront of innovation, positioning themselves as the best place to get the newest items first. They are now aiming to reinvent the future of retail through their ambitious Project Earth five year initiative.

Consumers will be able to sell their own items in exchange for store credit. With 48% of consumers saying COVID-19 has made them more concerned about the environment, this five-year initiative addresses major issues facing consumerism. It just shows that to be innovative and new, sometimes it’s more impactful to be old.
