We are a team of like-minded thinkers, crazy innovators, masters of crafts, enthusiastic enthusiasts, fearless experimentalists - that are stronger together.
LIFE AT THE YARD CREATIVE
"It’s fast yet considered, it’s in-depth and factual, it’s inspirational and challenging, it’s scary yet supportive, it’s fun yet professional, it’s energetic and friendly… and it’s loud!"
This is how one of our esteemed freelancers, Matt, once described TYC. We were touched.
Life at TYC is about a balance. A balance between all those things but most of all between work and life. No one can produce their best without down time, time to forget, time to play, time to share. That’s why we strive to close the studio at 6pm everyday. But don’t misunderstand, to do this we work hard, fast and efficiently.
Although we have many different skill sets, we are focussed on one vision of #changingsectors.
To ensure we deliver on this promise every time, we have one rule - share everything you know with those around you. You might be the junior, but you can still teach the boss a thing or two.
Every idea has the ability to be a great idea. Everyone around you will encourage you to think differently and push it as far as it can go. So speak up.
Never be afraid to say what’s on your mind, even if you think it might ruffle some feathers. We value everyone’s opinion.
At TYC, we want our team to get the most out of work possible. With TYC you really can make it what you want. The truth of being in small studio is that you will be exposed to pretty much everything. You’ll learn quickly and develop fast.
LIFE OUTSIDE TYC
We find that an active team social life helps us bond whilst also getting everyone out and about, which is important in our line of work. These are the kind of social events that we organise on a regular basis.
Don’t take this the wrong way! Once a month, Keith plans an experimental night out for the team. What it will be, only he knows. All we know is, they’re incredible and they always blow our minds.
In order to keep our creative minds whirling with original inventiveness we make it a thing to regularly attend innovation events, futurologist talks and trend seminars.
From TED and Most Contagious, to Trend Watching and Wired. So long as it’s something new and you share what you learn, it’s game.
Most of the team at TYC have a craft based hobby that they try to pursue outside of work. Our artisan corner enables people to try out new crafts (such as screen printing or concrete pouring) or do what they love during any work down time.
We are a social bunch, there's always lots happening on the non-work tip, which do you fancy?
