Black + Blanc set out with a clear vision; to disrupt the property sector by tackling head on the disdain for estate agents. TYC were appointed to bring this vision to life by creating a customer experience, unique identity and an outstanding branded environment that all plays its part to help elevate the industry and puts a smile back in to buying/selling your house.
Heavily weighted towards service design, this project kicked off with helping the Black + Blanc team clarify their USP and streamlining key processes for an enhanced customer experience.
With an aim to improve transparency, the client made a number of changes to the buying and selling processes, including the valuation and house search processes. These process changes were ‘wrapped up’ and communicated in a way that our mum would understand and enjoy reading.
The look and feel of the Black + Blanc brand was developed from the name, exploring different visual identity routes and experimenting with marques and colourway combinations until a final design was settled upon that was bold, ownable and memorable.
The interior design set out to achieve the feeling of a private members club whilst being unexpected. Taking cues from popular London members clubs to create the intimate feeling of a relaxing, lounge-like space.
Black + Blanc believe in the honest, straight talking, no nonsense approach to buying and selling homes. The clubs are not like average estate agent offices; they’re modern and stylish with comfortable communal spaces. You can even pop in, grab a coffee and just talk to them about the local area! Much like a favourite butcher or baker, the clubs are part of the community and aim to provide a high-quality, valued service on the high street.
The first two sites to feature the new brand, interiors and services opened in Q3 2017 in Croydon and Wimbledon.
