Fancy working with brave clients that want to be challenged?

Our mantra is about working with clients that dare to be different. That means rethinking the expected and imagining a reality that blows minds and boosts ideas into the stratosphere.

We are looking for a vibrant, energetic and driven individual to join the current The Yard Creative new business set up. You will have an experienced marketing head alongside great communication skills.  Eloquent and persuasive writing and a well-honed telephone manner are essential. We are looking for a hungry and eager Business Development Manager that is confident enough to operate autonomously whilst taking guidance from the Senior Management Team.

The role is split into 3 key aspects of business development:

  • Farming:
    • Help farm existing high valued clients to maximise satisfaction and financial reward.
  • In-bound:
    • Help convert and convert, in-coming new business enquiries from initial qualifying call, to contract signing.
  • Out-reach:
    • Help implement out-reach strategy and continue to help grow the business in a considered way.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

Point of contact for all new business enquiries, strike up and continue conversations and proposal writing to answer the clients challenges

Attend new business meetings both virtually and in person

Capturing your activity and lead management on SalesForce

Good understanding and use of LinkedIn to build profiles and connect with opportunities

Develop and grow the existing new business strategy with guidance from Senior Management Team

Actively and regularly attend industry events to build network and evangelise about TYC

Manage bids and pitches both externally (with the client) and internally (with the creative team)

Weekly report of new business activity to senior management team

Account management of won projects (not day to day running of jobs)

We have big aspirations including doubling the size of the business, putting down ground in the US and building out the research, strategy and digital side of the business. The person appointed for the role will be an integral part of this plan so it comes with a reasonable degree of responsibility and ownership.

Who will you be?

You’ll be your own person. Be confident in who you are, stand up for what you believe and never hide what you know. You’ll share everything you know to help others around you grow and flourish whilst being inquisitive to ask them questions back. People will describe your knowledge and energy as infectious. You’ll of course have a passion for what you do (otherwise why are you doing it?!), bring energy to the team and help grow our culture. And you’ll know the creative world. You’ll not bluff your way through, never lie and always have TYC front of mind.

And lastly…

You’ll be part of an agency whose profits go towards affecting climate, demographic and economic change. At a time where we’re all telling our clients to have a bigger purpose, we’re leading the way and showing others how it’s done.
