Biking is hugely popular in the UK at the moment as people's reluctance to go on public transport holds steady. The Netherlands, being way ahead of us as a nation that's always been bike-friendly, have got one thing that we certainly don't (yet!): dedicated bike garages. The most impressive one is right opposite the Hague's main railway station and has been built as a museum-like structure with back-lit glass walls and intelligent directional markings. With space for up to 8000 bikes, it might actually be the best part of your commute.
