With the mission to provide high quality, premium, vegan coffee paired with delicious artisan vegan cuisine and innovative CBD products, Gecko coffee approached TYC to ask how do you create something unique to disrupt and challenge an oversaturated market?

How we answered

Disrupting the speciality coffee space

Inspired by the founder’s travels and favourite hotspot on Paraga beach, Greece, TYC created an all-day coffee lovers’ hideaway for socialising, hybrid working and for just simply chilling. A welcoming, inclusive space with a relaxing social vibe in the heart of Shoreditch’s art and design landscape, an antidote to the endless big brand coffee shops taking over London.

Utilising both aspects of the site with entrances from both Redchurch Street and Bethnal Green Road, the ground floor space hosts the speciality coffee bar counter with a landscape of seating for both dwell and more casual moments where in the evening a DJ booth appears. For the locals and those in the know, the lounge hideaway is waiting to be discovered in the basement where members can enjoy semi-private spaces for chilled house vibes.

By combining both the physical and digital touchpoints across the brand experience, being as green as a gecko and a place where customers sit down and relax to enjoy a specialty coffee with good music and chilled vibes, it’s like stepping into an oasis.
